Bring the Christmas story to life as your students build the Nativity scene together! This hands-on Christmas Bible activity combines storytelling, an object lesson, and a 3D Nativity project in one memorable lesson for Preschool–5th Grade.

Give each child one or two Nativity pieces. As the teacher asks, “Who has Mary?” “Who has Joseph?” “Who has Baby Jesus?”, children bring their pieces forward and add them to the scene. With each new piece, the included teacher script tells a little more of the Christmas story. By the time the Nativity is complete, your class has helped tell the story of Jesus’ birth from beginning to end.

The finished project creates a large, colorful 3-panel Nativity backdrop with 15 pieces, including:

  • Mary, Joseph & Baby Jesus
  • 2 Shepherds
  • 2 Groups of Sheep
  • Donkey
  • Camel
  • 3 Magi
  • 2 Angels
  • Bethlehem Star

The people and animals are designed as freestanding figures, while the angels and star are attached to the backdrop. The three-page stable backdrop joins together to create a wide display that can stand on a table, shelf, classroom counter, or other flat surface.

TWO WAYS TO USE IT!

CLASS OR FAMILY PROJECT:

Build one large Nativity together while using the included teacher/parent script to tell the Christmas story.

Print a set for each child and let students build their own Nativity scene to take home.
