Key Scriptures: Luke 24:50-53 The Ascension of Jesus. Also includes review of Palm Sunday, The Last Supper, The Resurrection, and The Miraculous Catch of Fish.
Theme: Trusting the Holy Spirit to bring peace in the ups and downs of life.
Life can feel like an emotional rollercoaster—one moment we’re happy and excited, and the next we’re scared, confused, or sad. In this children’s sermon, we follow Peter’s journey during Holy Week and discover how closely it mirrors the ups and downs we experience today.
Peter watched Jesus welcomed with joy on Palm Sunday, then felt fear and sadness when Jesus was arrested, denied Him three times, and saw Him die. Then came the confusion of the empty tomb and the excitement of seeing Jesus again on the shore. It was one emotional high and low after another!
But when Jesus appeared to the disciples before ascending to heaven, He opened their minds to understand God’s plan and promised them a gift—the Holy Spirit.
Key Takeaway: Life’s twists and turns can feel wild, but the Holy Spirit helps us stay grounded, joyful, and full of peace—no matter what comes our way.
