Key Scripture: John 1:45–46 — “Philip found Nathanael… Nathanael said, ‘Can anything good come from Nazareth?’ Philip said to him, ‘Come and see.’”
Theme: Jesus calls us to see people the way He does.
This sermon for all ages explores what it means to be prejudiced—to “pre-judge” someone before we know them. Using the story of Nathanael and Philip from the Gospel of John, kids learn how Nathanael’s snap judgment about Nazareth almost caused him to miss meeting Jesus! Through humor, honesty, and real-life examples, children discover that prejudice blinds us, closes our hearts, and keeps us from the gifts God wants to give us. Jesus shows us a better way—to look deeper, treat everyone the same, and respond with the invitation Philip gave: “Come and see.”
Key Takeaway: Prejudice keeps us from seeing goodness in others, but Jesus teaches us to look beyond our assumptions. When we treat everyone the way we want to be treated, our lives become richer, kinder, and more Christlike.
