Theme: Experiencing life’s “mountaintop moments” and learning that while those moments don’t last forever, God’s love and promises always do.

In this children’s message, we compare exciting real-world mountaintop moments—like Olympic gold medal wins—to the Transfiguration, when Jesus took Peter, James, and John up a mountain and was transformed before their eyes. The disciples saw Moses, Elijah, and Jesus shining in glory—a moment so amazing that Peter never wanted it to end.

But God spoke from heaven, saying, “This is my Son… listen to Him!” reminding the disciples that Jesus is greater than Moses or Elijah and that the real mission still waited below the mountain.

Kids learn that our biggest, happiest moments—winning, celebrating, special achievements—don’t last forever…but that’s okay! God gives us those moments to encourage us, strengthen our faith, and remind us that the greatest joy is still ahead, in His eternal kingdom.
