The Four Voices Of Christmas

Congregants can make a deeper connection with the Christmas Story as they hear fresh perspectives from Mary, a shepherd, a wiseman, and Joseph. This unique service gives voices to key witnesses of the Christmas Story. The Service unfolds as each of the four characters shares their personal journey and divine encounters. 

Do this as a service or as an intergenerational event. This can be done with the “voices” standing off stage and using a microphone, or with the voices dressed in character on the stage. 

Conclude the service with a Candlelighting Ceremony (glowsticks are optional for children). 

Two to ten+ participants are needed for this service.

Needed for this service:

• 4-8 people to read the Voices off-stage, and the scriptures. (Voices for Mary, a shepherd, a wiseman, and Joseph)
• Music or song leader to lead the congregation in singing the above songs
• Large candle on table in front of the congregation (for non-Advent Wreath Candlelighting Ceremony) plus matches or lighter
• Volunteers to help with the Candlelighting Ceremony
• Candles to pass out to attendees – some churches prefer to pass out glowsticks to the children
• For an Advent Wreath Candlelighting Ceremony: Advent Wreath with five candles, plus matches or a lighter
